BEASTMAN!

by Water For Water - Tuesday, December 06, 2011
Beastman is an artist based in Sydney and is a long time supporter and ambassador for Water For Water!

Beastman
is one of Australia’s most distinctive and prolific artists. He has exhibited his work and painted large scale murals all over Australia and New Zealand, as well as London, Berlin and New York.

It is no surprise that Beastman was one of the artist that donated work for Water For Water's Christmas Card project and we love how he turned his existing well known style
and infused it with a little bit of Christmas.

Check out his card on our online store.

If you are interested in more Beastman news, he is opening a solo exhibition 'Cosmic Nature' this Thursday night in Sydney and it's a show you cannot miss.

Beastman has hit a new stride with this latest body of work. Travelling around Australia and the world painting large scale aerosol works has noticeably evolved his unique and well recognised style, which he is taking from the street and into the gallery.

‘Cosmic Nature’ is a refreshing new series of paintings that explores the futuristic and overwhelming idea of nature coming to life in a way we could have never imagined. A new colour palette and further development of his distinctive style, reflects the different elements of our young world, organic lines and the often symmetrical geometric patterns found in nature.

This exhibition also acts as a launch for Beastman’s first publication. ‘Suburban Nature’ is a limited edition 60 page zine featuring street art, murals and collaborations created by the artist over 2 years throughout 10 different countries, documenting the journey and development of the artist’s distinct style.

THURSDAY 8 DECEMBER 2011 7PM EXHIBITION CONTINUES UNTIL 18 DECEMBER 2011

KIND OF — 72 OXFORD STREET, DARLINGHURST (SYDNEY)

PHIBS!

by Water For Water - Monday, November 28, 2011

Phibs is one of Australia’s most talented graffiti artists.

It is no stretch to say that Phibs paints walls every single day of the year, almost without exception!

Originally from Sydney, Phibs came from a strong graffiti background growing up painting on the train lines of Sydney’s inner suburbs.

Phibs endeavors to promote the value of the art form through outlets such as commissioned murals, youth workshops, exhibitions, and theatrical productions. Whilst Phibs signature is intricate, stencil-like delineated lines and cut-back methods, his work is visibly influenced by the art and mythology of many cultures, both ancient and modern.

Phibs donated his work and signature style to Water For Water Christmas Cards artist series and we think you will love his card.

Max Berry

by Water For Water - Monday, November 21, 2011
Max Berry donated artwork to Water For Water's Christmas card project and we think he is amazing!

Max was born in 1987 in Katherine NT and he currently lives and works Sydney. Max works both in the studio and on the street transferring his images from canvas to walls and back again.

Max Berry's work creates a world where every object has a life of its own, a daydream land where houses talk to clouds and characters float playfully in abstracted space. Fascinated by obscure lore and strange unknown lands, his work explores the human condition in a playful journey into the surreal.

This Thursday night in Brisbane, Max is teaming with artist Mark Alsweiler to open their show “All Things Lost” at Nine Lives Gallery, Fortitude Valley.  Their show is set to be an amazing showcase of their individual styles and passion for hand-built sculpture. If you are in Brisbane make sure you go and check out the show.

Thanks to Max for his contribution to the Water For Water Christmas Card project. To purchase a pack of cards - visit the Water For Water online store.
