We are Coming To America!

After much researching, planning and early morning conference calls we are excited to announce Water For Water is now available in the US of A!! Yes we are Coming to America!

Just like in Australia Water For Water is 100% Natural Spring water but for the USA market we have sourced locally from Palomar Mountain in Southern California. Not only is our water local, but our labour, labels and caps are all from the USA.

Our new 16.9 fl oz bottles are light weight and made from Regenerate™100% RPET.

RPET bottles are made entirely from recycled beverage containers and have a 65% smaller carbon footprint than traditional PET plastic bottles. This is a huge step forward in the global effort to protect the environment and Water For Water is excited to be using RPET in this region

If you are from the USA and interested in stocking Water For Water in your cafe, restaurant, business, charity organisation, church, festival, school, community or sporting group please email us, we would love to hear from you.

JOSEPHINE'S STORY

http://waterforwater.com.au/images/larger_end.png
by Water For Water - Thursday, March 22, 2012
Today is World Water Day and we wanted to introduce you to Josephine.

Josephine Romero is 45 years old and has lived in Caloocan City, Philippines her whole life.

Including Josephine 9 people live in her house: 3 young kids and 5 adults, which is a typical Filipino household.

Every week her whole family consumes 3-4 containers of water, which is approximately 70 litres of water that they receive from the Caloocan City Water For Water station. An average Australian will use this amount on just a single shower!

Josephine's husband recently died due to sickness and she now more than ever understands the importance of good health for her family. We spoke to Josephine about what having clean water means to her.

"As a Grandma I believe that clean drinking water is vital to my grandchildren's growth and health. Clean water decreases chances of being sick and hospitalised. I do all I can to preserve my family's health”

Josephine's family like many others in the Philippines use clean water for drinking, cooking and cleaning vegetables. Without access to clean water Filipinos make do with boiling water or alternatively drink un-clean-water from taps. Water is life, and Josephine's family now has the opportunity to have a healthy life.

Buy purchasing a bottle of Water For Water from any Gloria Jean's Coffee house throughout Australia you are helping people like Josephine and her family get access to clean safe drinking water.

WORLD RECORD SMASHED!

http://waterforwater.com.au/images/larger_end.png
by Water For Water - Tuesday, February 14, 2012

Through our distribution partners, Gloria Jean’s Coffees foundation, 'With Heart', Water For Water bottles were given to the team of talented athletes during an attempt to break the Guinness World Record of the “Treadmill, Fastest Time to Run 100 km.

The team needed to break the current record of 5 hrs, 42 mins and 32 secs with the treadmill traveling at above 18.75km/h for the duration to break the record!

The Team of 12 consisted of a mix of professional athletes to Lifeguards and novice runners. The 12 runners were: Craig Alexander, Steve Moneghetti, Michael Prince, John Mergler, Andrew Reid, Adriel Young, Stephen Madden, Clint Kimmins, Dave Matthews, Lisa Corrigan, Trent Woods and Alister Ross.

The goal was to break the record to raise money and awareness for the Kids Foundation.

Every year more children die as a result of injury than from all diseases combined. The Kids Foundation works to both educate about injury prevention as well as to support seriously injured children through a recovery program and supports hundreds of families Australia wide who have endured trauma, horrific burns and other life changing injuries.

The team smashed the record by 18 mins! The average treadmill speed for the last hour alone was 20.5km/hr.

Well done to the team and thank you to 'With Heart, a Gloria Jean’s Coffees foundation', Shift60 & The Kids Foundation for the opportunity to be apart of such a fantastic cause and event.
